Find out whether the site works before the application goes in. Sweep the vehicle over the concept plan yourself, then hand the engineer a project with the scenarios already drawn.
Pre-application checks
Does the truck reach the loading bay on this lot? Does a car get out of the end bay without three-pointing? Ten minutes on the concept plan answers it.
Feasibility
Try the access from the other street, or the bay layout rotated ninety degrees, as separate layouts on the same plan. Keep the one that works.
Reviewing what you are sent
Open the consultant's DXF, put the same design vehicle on it, and see the sweep for yourself before it goes to the council.
Rigid vehicles only, and no substitute for a traffic engineer's assessment where one is required. It gets you to that conversation with the drawing already made.
